Here are some pictures from a weekend at Whitefish Lake Ontario. We stayed at Come by Chance Resort. Come by Chance has great accommodations and very friendly and helpful hosts. There is still time to get into the action this year before ice out. The walleye will start their run soon so get on it. The Doemel’s are from the Sheboygan WI area and have owned the resort for the past 14 years so they really know the lake! Ice is about 30 inches thick and took all of the length of the auger. Best baits were grubs and minnows which can be purchased at the resort. Lime green, chartreuse, or orange jigs worked well as did crappie rigs. While we were on the ice an Eagle kept circling low around us. Rick Doemel tossed it a small snack which he scooped up right next to us. Excellent experience!
